We’re Blue Forest Strings, a Birmingham-based ensemble bringing heartfelt live music to weddings and events of every size.
Our independent, musician-owned ensemble is led by the Principal Viola of the Alabama Symphony Orchestra and a longtime violinist with the Las Vegas Philharmonic. Our musicians bring experience performing with the Alabama Symphony, Phoenix Symphony, Las Vegas Philharmonic, Berkeley Symphony and Boise Philharmonic.

How do we choose an ensemble?
Tell us about your venue, the parts of your day you’d like accompanied, and the atmosphere you have in mind. We’ll recommend an ensemble and provide a personalized quote.
What do you need at the venue?
Our duos, trios and quartets perform acoustically and need a chair for each musician. Solo performances include a small sound system when appropriate. For outdoor events, we’ll coordinate suitable shade or shelter with you.
Can you play our special song?

Do you perform outside Birmingham?
Yes. We’re based in Birmingham, Alabama and available to travel for weddings, holiday parties, and special events. Share your date and venue so we can confirm availability and provide a personalized quote, including any applicable travel costs.

Should we choose a quartet, trio, duo, or solo violin?
A string quartet brings four musicians and rich, layered harmonies. A trio offers a fuller sound than a duo while using fewer musicians; a duo or solo violin can suit a more intimate gathering. Your space, musical preferences, and budget all help guide the choice. Explore the ensemble options.
How much does a string quartet cost?
We provide a personalized quote based on your date, venue, ensemble, performance time, and any travel or special requests. Tell us whether you would like ceremony music, cocktail hour music, or both so we can quote the coverage you need.
Can you play pop songs and special requests?
Yes. Our repertoire includes classical and contemporary music. You can hear our performances of Viva la Vida, Canon in D, and Moon River on the homepage. Share your requests early so we can confirm availability for your ensemble; for songs outside our list, we’ll discuss what is possible.
Do you perform around Birmingham?
We welcome inquiries for weddings and events in Birmingham, Vestavia Hills, Hoover, Mountain Brook, Homewood, and beyond. Share your venue and date to confirm availability and any travel costs.
